NBC Brings it Home at Teams Challenge 2026

What a weekend.

What a result.

What a year to remember.

Newcastle Bodyboarding Club rolled into Port Macquarie’s Town Beach for the 2026 Teams Challenge with one goal in mind — to leave it all out there for the club, for each other, and for the wider Newy community. And that’s exactly what happened.

From the opening siren on Day 1, both our Main Team and Old Boys Team came out firing. The energy was high, the support crew was loud, and the intent was clear. By the end of the first day, both teams had put themselves in the box seat, leading their divisions after a huge day of effort, commitment and teamwork.

But everyone knows these events aren’t won in a day.

Day 2 was all about digging deep, backing each other, and doing the hard yards when it mattered most. Every heat counted. Every wave mattered. And both teams rose to the occasion. With massive effort, grit and plenty of Newcastle pride, our Main Team brought home the trophy, and our Old Boys Team did the same — two trophies heading back to Newcastle Bodyboarding Club.

An unbelievable achievement and one that speaks volumes about the depth, culture and heart of this club.

What made it even more special was the support behind the scenes. The backing from family, friends, and the greater Newy community all weekend was next level. From those who made the trip, to those cheering from home, to everyone who got behind the club in any way — we felt it, and it meant everything.

This one will stick with us for a long time.

Two teams. Two trophies. One proud club.

We’re back.
